Hello and thank you for the opportunity to speak with you today. I hope your week is off to a great start! My name is Amber DeBarge with Come As You Are Yoga. We offer classes in Carmel Mountain at Infinitely Fit and in July we will start offering classes at our new location in Allied Gardens near the I 15 and I 8 intersection.
I have been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years and teaching for two years. The classes currently being offered include vinyasa, hatha and restorative as well as classes on reaching your full potential and living your dreams.
Yoga was designed thousands of years ago before religion and before written language. Yoga was designed to be taught to children in small groups and to adults one-on-one. This is because every adult has different needs and goals. There are many different types of yoga. Here are a few common styles being taught here in the USA.
Vinyasa Flow is a form of yoga that focuses on one-breath one-movement format. This of yoga increases endurance, improves strength and range of motion as well as toning muscles and improving cardiovascular health.
Hatha yoga is slower and allows for improving each pose. This slow moving yoga holds each pose for 3-4 breaths. This extra time is used to adjust the posture and focus on your breath and the effortless execution of each pose.
Restorative yoga or Yin yoga is a non-moving yoga. These poses are done laying down. These fully supported yoga poses are held for 5-7 minutes. This style of yoga is done with cold muscles and facilitates the stretching and conditioning of connective tissue. The result being a long lasting skeletal alignment and miofacial adjustment.
